What size do I grow to?: African Pygmy Hedgehogs can grow up to eight inches

Where do it come from?: African pygmy hedgehogs are mostly found in West Africa.

Interesting fact: When growing African Pygmy Hedgehogs go through a process called Quilling this is when there smaller spikes come off and bigger stronger ones come in, during this process the old spikes become very hard and sharp.

How long do I live for?: If cared for correctly I can live up to 5 years in captivity however in the wild there average lifespan is 2-3 years due to predators and lack of resources like food etc.

Do I live in a group?: No African Pygmy Hedgehogs are solitary animals, meaning the only time they spend in groups is either during breeding or nursing their young.
